Tenacity 2013-ongoing
Our cities are concrete forests, soaring towers resting on small footprints. Nature is seemingly obliterated by the built environment, the bright lights and constant movement leave little space for contemplation beyond the economic. These spaces however require constant maintenance to keep nature at bay. Dirt accumulates, seeds scatter and life erupts in the most unexpected places.
The Tenacity series echoes the formal qualities of this landscape, forms are twisted, slashed and cut to a point of near collapse. They take on an organic quality, suggestive of an alternative future where nature once again dominates.
