Conversations 2010-2012
A series of tactile interchangeable units that and can be assembled in a multitude of configurations. Rather than document natural forms however, it depicts human relations and social processes.
The work is developed through an exploration of my own social context. An invitation is issued for tea or perhaps a drink, and to participate in a collaborative process. Working together we develop a series of objects that reflect the influence we have on each other and our conversation. This process acknowledges and celebrates the people who have provided support, aesthetic advice and whose work inspires me.
Conversation Pieces celebrates the importance of human relations, the series is a conduit to extend practice beyond my current environment.
